It was an exciting day when we recently met Kerry Palmer, the owner and brainchild behind the gorgeous Basement Snug. Located in the heart of Kenilworth, it offers a cosy and welcoming studio space for women. Although Kerry owns this venue, she was looking for somewhere with a larger capacity and with nature on the doorstep, to run her first Yoga Day Retreat.
Kerry’s Retreat for 15, took place on a slightly grey and wet day but this certainly didn’t dampen the group’s enthusiasm. Her beautifully crafted programme, centred around morning and afternoon Yoga sessions. After arrival and welcome, guests eased gently into Slow Flow Yoga.
They then layered up and were guided to the Wootton Park woods by Forest Bathing Expert Mandy, to enjoy some fresh air and an opportunity to recharge in nature.
Upon their return, the group were more than ready for their delicious and wholesome, vegetarian lunch. They had requested our popular Buddha Bowls, served with hot soup and bread. All of our catering is homemade, using homegrown or locally sourced produce. We also cater for individual dietary requirements.
The afternoon focused on Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. The latter allows you to access delta brainwaves, allowing your body and mind to rest while you are awake. These are the same brainwaves responsible for the healing and restoration that happens in your body during deep sleep.
The perfect way to bring the Retreat to a close, well not before they sampled some mouthwatering cakes and bakes of course.
We’re delighted that Kerry has booked a further two dates with us in the coming months and are looking forward to working with her again…and again!
